Marla Benton earned her education through the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, the Ontario College of Art and Design (BFA) and Nipissing University (BED). As an artist and teacher, she worked in the Yukon, Northern Quebec, Ontario and Nova Scotia. Through all her experiences, she has been exposed to many different materials. She found that ceramics were a perfect fit for being practical and playful at the same time. As a result, Marla’s work is colourful, humorous and playful in addition to being both sculptural and functional.
